October 29, '19 - Tuesday - Epic Fail book 12 (week 591) - Link
The next week of Epic Fail year 12 is up.

This fail week I feel extra depressed. I'm still very worried about bills and my physical health. Though a few happy things come along and try and break through the sads.

October 23, '19 - Wednesday - System recommendation updates - systems link
Minor changes to the builds. Eeked the rank one down a few hundred more (back to where I'm comfortable with it in the 800-1k range for 'what's in the box') and the M.2 drive prices seem to have come down a fair bit for the higher-end offerings. Also added a 10-keyless keyboard to the top builds.

October 5, '19 - Saturday - rabb1t's ramblings podcast 328: A Destiny in the cards - Link
In this podcast I ramble about the re-launch of Destiny 2, so-called New Light, and the peek we free players get at Shadowkeep content. I only have had a brief preview of what's different from before, but as a currently free player it looks like they have changed a lot of the gap between what is free and what is paid for content, and I no longer feel pushed away not having the most recent content like I did in the past.

I also briefly talk about Magic the Gathering: Arena and how it's changed since I last tried the beta.

October 1, '19 - Tuesday - Epic Fail book 12 (week 587) - Link

August 27, '19 - Tuesday - Epic Fail book 12 (week 582) - Link
The next week of Epic Fail year 12 is up.

This fail week a big birthday comes and goes. It feels like any other day physically, but emotionally brings with it more fear and worry about the years I may have left, or more accurately may not have. With the birthday gifts and help new contacts are finally gotten.

August 24, '19 - Saturday - rabb1t's ramblings podcast 326: Remnant, a shooter rising from the ashes - Link
In this podcast I ramble about Remnant: From the Ashes, a very strategic and different shooter compared to other modern shooters. Remnant takes place on alien infested worlds, and you fight to survive in dynamically generated environments. With solid gunplay, tons of character customization, and very interesting environments and enemies, this is easily one of the best shooters I've played, if not the absolute best.

August 3, '19 - Saturday - rabb1t's ramblings podcast 325: Another subjugation of pigs - Link
In this podcast I ramble about two mobile games; Angry Birds 2 and Castle Cats. Angry Birds 2 is very similar at its core to the original Angry Birds. But it seems to highly encourage you to go online, and has indications micro transactions might become an issue at later levels. Castle Cats looks like a super cute quest management kind of game where you manage your cat army and send them off on quests.

The next week of Epic Fail year 12 is up.

This fail week I worry about a cute kitten I saw. I have sad thoughts about my upcoming birthday. And early money from dad allows at least a couple of presents to be bought. Extreme back pain limits me most of the week.

July 26, '19 - Friday - System recommendation updates - systems link
Minor changes to the Intel builds. Nvidia RTX Super cards are pricy because they are just now coming out, so if you can catch a non-super card on sale that would likely be better performance per dollar. The biggest change is the AMD alternative build suggestions. These are PCI express 4 ready, but due to their bleeding tech nature, and reports that the parts tend to run hot, they are only alternate build suggestions. Note in many cases they actually outperform Intel. (More so in non-gaming applications than gaming.)

Prices overall have eeked up a bit over the past few years. When I do the next generation if prices haven't come back down I may do some adjusting to the power levels of each build to make the entry system closer to the original $750 (for what's in the box) price range as its slowly slipped away from its intended price point over the years.

July 23, '19 - Tuesday - Epic Fail book 12 (week 577) - Link
The next week of Epic Fail year 12 is up.

This fail week I am relieved the car registration is paid, but still worried about all the smaller bills. My mind wanders to my birthday a month from now, not because of the number, but because it seems it will be just a regular homeless day like any other.

There is also a sad life update, as things are going very badly and I feel very sad lately.

I also give final review thoughts on Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, which is a turn based strategy game which while one of the best games of its type, has limited replayability due to static mission areas.

In this podcast I ramble about Pigeon Wings Strike, an 'endless runner' where you are flying along in the sky trying to pass pigeons.

I also talk a bit about how we, as gamers, should stop pre-ordering games, and need to pay very close attention to what developers say about a game, and what actually there is at launch compared to what was promised, and what there should be.
